PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

dev.ronin-wallet-website.axieinfinity.services is an impersonation phishing page posing as Ronin, the wallet behind the Axie Infinity ecosystem. Its hostname combines "ronin-wallet-website" with an Axie Infinity lookalike name, so it reads like an official development or download site to Axie players. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-07-28. On 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its phishing content.

How the scam works

Fake Ronin sites usually show a familiar wallet interface and claim a download, update or account check is needed. The victim is then asked to type their Ronin recovery phrase or private key, or to connect their wallet and sign a request. A recovery phrase gives the operator complete control of the wallet, and a signed approval can let them move tokens and NFTs such as Axie assets. Either way, the funds can be swept within minutes, and the transfers cannot be reversed.

Evidence

Thirteen of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-12. Those engines include the crypto-focused ChainPatrol along with BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF and CyRadar. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists in addition to PhishDestroy's. Wallet-security and general security vendors reached the same verdict independently, which supports the impersonation classification.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2021-09-24, almost five years before PhishDestroy detected this page. An older domain carrying the Axie Infinity name can look more trustworthy, and the operator can add new subdomains like this "dev." host at any time. Registration is through Cloudflare, Inc, and the site is hosted on Google LLC's network in the United States.

What to do

If you entered your Ronin recovery phrase or private key on this site, treat the wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet with a fresh phrase on a clean device and move any remaining assets there right away. If you only connected and signed, revoke token and NFT approvals granted from that wallet and check its recent activity. Install Ronin only through the official app stores or the official Ronin site, never from links in chats or ads. Defenders should block this hostname and its parent domain at the DNS and proxy level, and report it to the registrar and hosting provider.
