How the scam works

On 2026-10-07, 13 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. That is a minority of engines, but the vendors come from several separate security companies. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as a spam source, which suggests it was promoted through unsolicited messages. It also appears in two AlienVault OTX threat pulses.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-09-23 through NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED, just twelve days before PhishDestroy caught it. A brand-new domain on a cheap TLD carrying a charity's name fits a short-lived campaign rather than a real organisation. The site was hosted on Contabo GmbH infrastructure in France.
