PhishDestroy’s intake system classified rewards-fables.xyz as malicious on 2026-10-21 because a fresh URLScan scan returned a malicious verdict and the AI phishing model gave a 100 % confidence rating. The page excerpt captured by the intake reads “Connect the wallet you used at snapshot, pick a rewards start date, and submit your ballot before the window closes. Vote Now,” indicating an attempt to lure users into connecting a crypto wallet. An HTTP 200 response was recorded for the /rewards/ path on the same day, while a separate Cloudflare Radar scan showed a 404 for the root URL.

How the scam works

Wallet‑drainer phishing sites typically impersonate a legitimate blockchain project and ask visitors to link their Web3 wallet, after which malicious scripts can request token approvals or initiate transfers to steal assets. By presenting a fake voting or rewards interface, the attacker creates a sense of legitimacy that encourages the victim to grant the wallet connection.

Evidence

VirusTotal’s domain scan on 2026-10-21 reported one suspicious detection from Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and no malicious detections out of 92 engines. URLScan’s analysis on 2026-10-21 gave the page a malicious verdict with a score of 100, categorising it as phishing and tagging it with a generic crypto brand. Google Safe Browsing did not flag the domain, OTX listed four pulses mentioning it, no external blocklists reported it, and PhishDestroy’s internal blocklist marks it as malicious.
