Overview

capikcutikkwhi.com presents itself as "C Editor - Cinema Video | Free Video Editor Online". It is an impersonation phishing page that copies the look of a free browser-based video editor to lure people hunting for no-cost editing software. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-04. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still alive and redirecting visitors onward.

How the scam works

Pages like this borrow a familiar product name and design so the visitor believes they have reached a legitimate free tool. From there, this type of scheme pushes the victim toward an action that benefits the operator, such as downloading a fake installer, signing in with an existing account, or connecting a crypto wallet under the pretext of unlocking features. The page title advertises video editing rather than crypto. Even so, wallet-focused blocklists have listed the domain, which suggests the lure may end in a wallet or credential prompt. The redirect means the page a visitor finally lands on can differ from the editor front.

Evidence

On 2026-10-07, 8 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and URLQuery. That is a modest count, but it comes from vendors that judged the site independently. Spamhaus lists it in its DBL as a phishing domain, and the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists carry it alongside PhishDestroy. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through OwnRegistrar, Inc. on 2026-10-02, just two days before we detected it. That gap fits a site that was created specifically for this campaign. It is hosted in the Netherlands on the Omegatech LTD network (OMEGATECH-AS) and uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate. The padlock in the browser therefore says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

If you downloaded anything from this site, do not run it, delete it, and scan your device with up-to-date security software. If you signed in, change that password and any reused passwords, then turn on two-factor authentication. If the page asked you to connect a wallet or enter a recovery phrase, assume the wallet is exposed and move your funds to a new wallet created on a clean device. Get video editors only from the vendor's official site or an official app store. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, hunt for past visits in their logs, and watch for similar misspelled editor-themed domains.
