segurosoat-mundial.top is an impersonation phishing page posing as the online SOAT store of Seguros Mundial, using the page title "SOAT Online | Seguros Mundial Colombia". It targets Colombian vehicle owners who need to buy or renew SOAT, the mandatory traffic-accident insurance, and who search for a quick way to pay online. PhishDestroy first saw the domain on 2026-10-06. When checked on 2026-10-19, its content was unreachable.
How the scam works
Fake SOAT portals copy an insurer's branding and offer a fast purchase or renewal, often at an attractive price. The visitor enters a licence plate, personal and ID details, and then card or bank login information at a fake checkout. That information goes to the operators. The victim loses money from fraudulent charges and personal data that can be reused for identity fraud, and is left without a valid policy while believing they are insured.
Evidence
On 2026-10-12, 15 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. That is a minority of engines. However, it is a broad spread of independent vendors for a domain only days old. Spamhaus lists it in its domain blocklist under the spam category, and it appears in three AlienVault OTX threat pulses. This shows other researchers have tracked it as well. PhishDestroy lists it on our blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-09-30 through NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED under the cheap .top extension. It was already active and detected six days later, which is typical of short-lived campaigns that register a domain and use it right away. It resolves to an address on Contabo GmbH's network, a German hosting provider, with the server geolocated in France. The free Let's Encrypt certificate gives the page a browser padlock, which proves nothing about who runs it.
What to do
If you entered card details on this site, contact your bank immediately to block the card and dispute any charges. Watch your statements for small test payments. If you typed online-banking credentials, change that password and enable two-factor authentication. Check whether you actually hold a valid SOAT through Seguros Mundial's official channels or another authorised seller, and be alert to follow-up calls or messages that reuse your ID number or plate. Security teams should block the domain, watch for lookalike domains combining "soat" with insurer names, and report new copies to the impersonated brand and to PhishDestroy.
