Overview

bigagnesonline.shop is a fake online shop that borrows the name and branding of Big Agnes, the outdoor gear maker known for tents and sleeping bags. Its page title, "The Mother of Comfort | Big Agnes", is designed to look like an official storefront to shoppers searching for camping gear. PhishDestroy first saw the site on 2026-10-16. As of 2026-10-19 it was still online and serving its shop pages.

How the scam works

Fake brand shops copy a real store's look, then list popular products at prices well below normal to push quick checkouts. The buyer pays by card or another payment method and then receives nothing, a cheap item unrelated to the order, or a run of fake shipping updates until the refund window has passed. Victims lose the purchase price. The card details, name, address and phone number entered at checkout can also be reused for fraud or sold.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the site malicious and specifically flagged it as a fake shop, which directly supports our classification. On VirusTotal, 4 of 92 engines flagged it as of 2026-10-19: Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft and Netcraft. That is a low count, so most browser and antivirus protections will not warn visitors yet. The domain also appears in 3 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers are tracking it too. PhishDestroy lists it on its blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-04-27, about five and a half months before we detected it. A long gap like this is common with fake shops that are set up early and switched on later. The site runs on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in the US. Its certificate comes from Let's Encrypt, so the browser padlock only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the store is genuine.

What to do

If you ordered from this site, contact your bank or card issuer right away, report the charge as fraud, request a chargeback and ask for a replacement card. Keep your order confirmation and any emails as evidence. Expect phishing messages that use the name, email and phone number you entered, and do not pay any extra "customs" or "shipping" fees. To buy Big Agnes gear, go through the brand's official site or a known authorized retailer. Defenders should block the domain at web proxies and DNS filters and report it to the payment processors it uses.
