FAQ

How is the slug built?

The text is lowercased, accents are removed (é becomes e), every character except a–z, 0–9, spaces, hyphens and underscores is deleted, and each run of spaces, hyphens or underscores becomes one separator. A maximum length above 0 cuts the slug and drops a separator left at the end.

What happens to non-English text?

Letters without a plain a–z base are dropped, not transliterated: Cyrillic, Greek and CJK text disappears, and ß or ø vanish (Straße becomes strae), so check slugs for such titles by hand.

Is the text uploaded?

No. The slug is computed in your browser as you type.
