llms.txt Generator

Runs locally

Use llms.txt Generator

What it does

Build an llms.txt file, a Markdown summary of your site for large language models as proposed at llmstxt.org: the site name as a heading, a short summary and lists of key links.

It runs entirely in your browser: nothing you enter is uploaded.

Example

Two key pages

Input
Docs | https://example.com/docs | Getting started guide
API | https://example.com/api | Endpoint reference
Output (captured 2026-10-20)
# My Site

## Resources

- [Docs](https://example.com/docs): Getting started guide
- [API](https://example.com/api): Endpoint reference

With Site Name empty the heading falls back to # My Site, followed by a ## Resources list: - [Docs](https://example.com/docs): Getting started guide and the same for API.

FAQ

What layout does it produce?

An H1 with the site name, blockquotes with the site URL and tagline, an Overview section, a ## Resources list built from Title | URL | Description lines and an optional Contact link. The llmstxt.org proposal puts free text before the first H2, so move the Overview text up if you want the strict layout.

Will AI assistants actually read llms.txt?

Not necessarily. llms.txt is a community proposal from 2024, not a standard, and no crawler or model is obliged to fetch it; it also does not control crawling the way robots.txt does.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The file is assembled in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere. Copy the output and save it as /llms.txt at the root of your site.
