PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

usdc336.com is an impersonation phishing page whose domain name borrows the USDC stablecoin ticker to look like a legitimate USDC service. It targets crypto users who hold or trade stablecoins. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-09. The site has been offline since 2026-10-14 after its provider blocked the content, and it was still down on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages like this copy the look and language of a trusted crypto brand so visitors assume they are dealing with the real service. They then push the visitor to connect a wallet, sign a transaction, type in a seed phrase, or send a deposit. Each of these hands the attacker either direct control of the wallet or the funds themselves. The browser tab showed the title "onkeyon", which names no brand, while the domain and our classification point to USDC impersonation.

Evidence

On 2026-10-13, 4 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: Chong Lua Dao, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and LevelBlue. That is a low count, so most security tools would not have warned a visitor. The domain also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers tracked it independently. Among blocklists, it is listed by PhishDestroy.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Gname.com Pte. Ltd. on 2025-11-09, about eleven months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests the name was held in reserve before it went live as a lure. Traffic ran through Cloudflare, Inc. (IP 188.114.97.3, geolocated to CA), so the address shown belongs to the proxy network rather than the server behind it. The certificate was a routine Google Trust Services WE1 certificate, so the padlock said nothing about whether the site was legitimate.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to usdc336.com, open a token-approval checker and revoke any permissions granted around 2026-10-09 to 2026-10-14. Then move the remaining assets to a fresh wallet. If you typed in a seed phrase or private key, treat that wallet as compromised and empty it into a new one generated on a clean device. Do not send any further payments the site or its contacts request. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, search logs for past visits, and watch for sibling domains combining USDC with numbers.
