PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

usdc051.com is an impersonation phishing page whose name borrows the USDC stablecoin brand, with a numeric suffix that makes it look like one of many official-sounding mirrors. It targets people who hold or trade USDC and might trust a domain carrying the token's name. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-09. The site has been offline since 2026-10-14, with its content blocked at the provider level as of 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages like this use a familiar crypto brand to make a visitor believe they are dealing with a legitimate USDC service. They then push the victim to connect a wallet, sign a transaction, enter a recovery phrase or send funds. Any of these hands control of the victim's stablecoins to the operator, and on-chain transfers cannot be reversed. The page displayed the title "onkeyon", which does not reference USDC, while we classified the site as USDC impersonation based on its domain and behaviour.

Evidence

Independent coverage is thin. On 2026-10-13, VirusTotal showed only 2 of 92 engines flagging the domain, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and LevelBlue, so most security products would have let it load without warning. The domain appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers have tracked it in connection with malicious activity. Among blocklists, PhishDestroy currently lists it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Gname.com Pte. Ltd. on 2025-12-29, roughly nine months before it came to our attention. A long gap like that often means a domain was held in reserve or ran quietly before a campaign wave. Traffic was served through Cloudflare's network on an address geolocated to Canada, which hides the real origin server from visitors. Its Google Trust Services certificate shows that a browser padlock confirms only an encrypted connection, not a legitimate operator.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to usdc051.com, use a token-approval checker to revoke any permissions it was granted, and move your USDC and other assets to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you did not fully understand. If you typed a seed phrase into the site, treat that wallet as compromised and empty it immediately. Get USDC services only from addresses you have verified independently, never from search ads or links in messages. Defenders should block the domain and look for numbered USDC lookalikes in DNS and proxy logs, since the low detection count means existing filters probably missed it.
