Overview

rainbetcasinonorway.com presents itself as "Rainbet Casino i Norge | Kryptocasino og sport", a Norwegian-language crypto casino and sportsbook trading on the Rainbet name. It targets players in Norway who want to gamble with cryptocurrency. PhishDestroy classified it as a fraudulent gambling site and first saw it on 2026-10-11. The site was still online and serving content when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fraudulent crypto casinos borrow a recognizable gambling brand, add a local-language front end, and push visitors to sign up and fund an account by sending crypto to a deposit address. Balances and winnings shown on screen exist only inside the site. When a player tries to cash out, withdrawals stall or are blocked, or the player is asked for extra "verification" or fee payments. Crypto transfers cannot be reversed, so everything sent to the site is effectively lost.

Evidence

Seven of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-16: ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and URLQuery. The count is modest, but the mix of crypto-focused and general web-security vendors reached the same conclusion independently. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict. The domain sits on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, and it appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-22 through DEVEXPANSE LTD d/b/a Regery.com, just 19 days before PhishDestroy flagged it. A brand-name domain this new that is already taking deposits is a typical pattern for disposable scam storefronts. It is hosted on GoDaddy.com, LLC infrastructure in the United States and uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate. The padlock in the browser therefore says nothing about whether the operator can be trusted.

What to do

Do not register or deposit on this site. If you already sent crypto, stop sending more, and refuse any request for withdrawal, tax or verification fees, since paying them never releases funds. Record your transaction hashes, deposit addresses and account details, then report the loss to your exchange and to the police. If you reused a password on the site, change it wherever else you use it. Security teams should block the domain, watch for similar Rainbet-themed lookalike domains aimed at Nordic users, and report it to the hosting provider and registrar.
