PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

enhancedconfiguration.app is an impersonation phishing domain. Its generic, technical-sounding name is the kind used to pass as a legitimate setup or configuration step. MetaMask and the SEAL security alliance have both blocklisted it, which points to crypto wallet users as the intended targets. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-06. When last checked on 2026-10-19, the site still responded, but the DNS records serving its content were inactive.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages copy the look and wording of a trusted service so visitors believe they are on an official site. In crypto schemes, the page then asks the visitor to sign in, enter a recovery phrase, or connect a wallet and approve a transaction. Any of these steps can give the operator access to the funds. When last loaded, the page displayed only a bare directory listing titled "Index of /", while our classification is impersonation phishing.

Evidence

Six of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-10-06: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Kaspersky, SOCRadar and Webroot. That is a modest count, but it comes from several unrelated vendors. The wallet-security ecosystem has also acted: the domain sits on the PhishDestroy, MetaMask and SEAL blocklists. MetaMask's listing means its users should see a warning before the page loads. Three AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference the domain, so other researchers have tracked it independently.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-08-07 through NameSilo, LLC, about two months before PhishDestroy detected it. That lead time is consistent with a domain registered in advance and activated later. It is hosted on NameSilo's own network in Canada, so registration and hosting are with one provider. The site uses a standard domain-validated certificate from Sectigo, so the padlock in the browser only confirms the connection is encrypted, not that the site is legitimate.

What to do

If you entered a seed phrase or private key here, treat that wallet as compromised and move any remaining assets to a newly created wallet immediately. If you connected a wallet or signed anything, review and revoke the token approvals granted around that time using a reputable approval-checking tool. If you typed a password, change it everywhere you reused it and turn on two-factor authentication. Security teams should block the domain and its hosting IP at DNS and proxy level, and search logs for any visits since 2026-10-06.
