PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

alterhub.site presented itself as "ALTER | Roblox Script Hub", a place where Roblox players could supposedly get scripts to cheat, automate or unlock in-game advantages. PhishDestroy classifies it as a gaming scam aimed at Roblox players, many of them young, who search for free exploits. We first flagged it on 2026-09-27, and the site went offline that same day. As of 2026-10-19 its DNS no longer resolves.

How the scam works

Script hubs promise working cheats for popular Roblox games, but getting them usually means running something the player cannot inspect. That can be an "executor" program, a pasted snippet of code, or a login step that unlocks the scripts. Schemes like this typically end with a stolen Roblox account and its Robux and limited items. When the download is an executable, it can also plant malware that harvests saved browser passwords, session cookies and other accounts on the same computer. The "ALTER" branding and hub-style title give the site the look of the community script portals players already trust.

Evidence

Independent detection is thin. On 2026-09-29, 3 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: Bfore.Ai PreCrime, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and SOCRadar. AlienVault OTX lists it in 4 threat pulses, which means other researchers have tied it to tracked malicious activity. Among blocklists, only PhishDestroy currently carries it. A clean result from the remaining engines should not be read as a sign the site was safe.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2025-10-17 through HOSTINGER operations, UAB. That was nearly a year before we detected it, so it was not a throwaway registration spun up the week of the campaign. Traffic ran through Cloudflare, with the edge address located in Canada, which conceals where the actual server sat. The site was already unreachable when we flagged it, consistent with an operation that is abandoned or rotated once it draws attention.

What to do

If you downloaded an executor or script file from this site, delete it and run a full malware scan before logging into anything else on that computer. Change your Roblox password from a clean device, turn on two-step verification, and sign out of all other sessions. Check your Roblox inventory and trade history for anything you did not approve. If you ran a file, also change passwords saved in your browser, starting with email. Parents should talk with children about "free script" sites, because the same lure keeps reappearing under new names. Defenders can block alterhub.site and watch for lookalike hub domains using the "ALTER" name.
