PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

satellite.exchange is an impersonation phishing page built around an exchange-style name, aimed at crypto traders and wallet users who expect a legitimate trading service. Its page title is simply the domain name, which gives visitors no clue that it is a scam. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-08. When last checked on 2026-10-19, the site was still alive and the domain was redirecting visitors elsewhere.

How the scam works

Impersonation sites like this copy the look and wording of a trusted crypto service so that visitors treat it as the real thing. Victims are typically asked to log in, enter recovery details, connect a wallet, or deposit funds to start trading. Anything typed or signed there goes straight to the operators. Losses range from hijacked exchange accounts to wallets emptied through malicious signatures. Because the domain now redirects, the destination can be swapped at any time, so one visit is no guarantee of what the next will show.

Evidence

Wallet-security lists have picked up this site: MetaMask and SEAL both block it alongside PhishDestroy, so many wallet users will see a warning before the page loads. On VirusTotal, 7 of 92 engines flagged it on 2026-10-12, including Kaspersky, BitDefender, G-Data, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF and Gridinsoft. That count is modest, but these vendors are independent of each other and of us. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference the domain.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-08-07 through CommuniGal Communication Ltd., about two months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap fits a domain held in reserve and then turned into an active lure. It resolves to 103.224.182.211 on Trellian Pty. Limited's network in the US. The site uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether it is trustworthy.

What to do

Do not log in, deposit or connect a wallet on satellite.exchange. If you entered exchange credentials there, change that password and any reused passwords right away and reset your 2FA. If you typed in a seed phrase, assume the wallet is compromised and move your funds to a new wallet with a fresh phrase. If you connected a wallet and signed anything, review and revoke token approvals with a trusted revocation tool. Defenders should block the domain and its IP at DNS and proxy level and watch for the redirect target changing.
