rate-hook.com is an impersonation phishing page. It poses as a legitimate service to lure crypto users into handing over access or data. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-14. It has been offline since 2026-09-16, and when checked on 2026-10-19 the hosting provider was still blocking its content. Its appearance on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists points squarely at wallet holders as the intended victims.
How the scam works
Impersonation pages copy the look and wording of a service the victim already trusts. Visitors then act as they normally would: log in, enter a recovery phrase, or connect and sign with a wallet. Whatever they type or approve goes to the operator, and stolen wallet access usually means the funds are moved out quickly. This page showed only a generic "Loading…" title rather than a recognizable brand name, so the impersonated service cannot be named from its title alone.

Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-09-09 through Fewmoretaps OU d/b/a Trustname.com, and it was already active as a phishing page five days later. A gap that short is typical of throwaway domains bought for a single campaign. Traffic passed through Cloudflare, Inc., with a Canada location reported, so the operator's real server stayed hidden behind the proxy. Two days after PhishDestroy detection the site went dark.
What to do
If you visited rate-hook.com and entered a password, change it on the real service and turn on app-based 2FA. If you typed a seed phrase or private key, treat that wallet as compromised and move the remaining assets to a newly generated wallet right away. If you connected a wallet and signed anything, review and revoke token approvals with a reputable revocation tool. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and search logs for any visits around 2026-09-14 to 2026-09-16.
