PhishDestroy threat report
mescaz.com is an impersonation phishing site that poses as a legitimate service to win the trust of crypto users. Both MetaMask and SEAL, two crypto-focused security lists, block it, which points to wallet holders as the intended audience. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-10-14. As of 2026-10-19 the domain was still online and redirecting visitors elsewhere.
Impersonation pages copy the look, wording and flow of a trusted brand so that visitors act as if they were on the real site. In crypto campaigns this usually means prompting the victim to connect a wallet, sign a transaction, approve token spending or type in a recovery phrase. Any of these hands control of funds to the operator, and transfers on the blockchain cannot be reversed. The page title displays only the bare domain name, so it does not reveal which brand is being copied. The live redirect means the domain can still send visitors to another destination.
Thirteen of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-10-14. The vendors include BitDefender, ESET, Kaspersky, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft and alphaMountain.ai, a broad mix of independent security companies. MetaMask's and SEAL's blocklists both include it, as does PhishDestroy's. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as a spam domain. It also appears in 17 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have tracked it as well.
The domain was registered on 2026-05-08 through Fewmoretaps OU, which trades as Trustname.com. That is more than five months before PhishDestroy detected it, so this is not a domain spun up the day of a campaign. It resolves to an address on the SKN Subnet & Telecom Ltd network in the United States. Its certificate comes from Let's Encrypt, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is trustworthy.
If you connected a wallet or signed anything on mescaz.com, revoke the token approvals it was granted using a trusted approval-management tool. Then move any remaining assets to a fresh wallet. If you entered a seed phrase, treat that wallet as fully compromised and stop using it right away. Report the incident to the brand you believe was being copied, and do not trust anyone who contacts you offering to recover your funds. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and the web proxy and watch for redirect traffic tied to it.
