paperstrades.com is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as "Paper Season Crates · papertrade," borrowing the papertrade name to look like an official seasonal rewards drop. It targets crypto users who follow the project and expect crate or reward campaigns. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-10-07. As of 2026-10-19 the domain was still alive, and its content was reachable through a redirect.

How the scam works

A "season crates" theme is bait. It promises free or limited-time rewards and pushes visitors to act quickly before the crates supposedly run out. Pages of this type ask the visitor to connect a wallet and approve a transaction or sign a message to "open" or "claim" the crate. That signature gives the operator permission to move tokens or NFTs out of the wallet. The victim receives no reward and can lose any assets covered by the approval they granted.

Evidence

Several wallet-focused security teams flag the site independently. MetaMask, ScamSniffer and SEAL all list it alongside PhishDestroy, and Spamhaus DBL carries it as a phishing domain. On VirusTotal, 7 of 92 engines flagged it as of 2026-10-11: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE.
