Overview

notrace.exchange presents itself as a privacy service for Bitcoin, with the page title "Crypto mixer & bitcoin tumbler". It targets Bitcoin holders who want to hide where their coins came from. The page title describes a mixing service, while PhishDestroy classifies the site as impersonation phishing that uses the Bitcoin brand. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-19. As of 2026-10-19 the domain was still live and redirecting visitors elsewhere.

How the scam works

Fake mixers ask the visitor to send BTC to a deposit address and promise to return the same amount, minus a small fee, as clean coins sent to a new address. With a fraudulent tumbler, the coins never come back, or the site invents an extra fee to keep the victim paying. People using mixers rarely report losses, and Bitcoin transfers cannot be reversed, which makes this scheme attractive to fraudsters. Anything sent to the site's deposit address should be treated as lost.

Do not send any Bitcoin to this site. If you already made a deposit, do not pay any further "processing" or "release" fees, because they will not bring the coins back. Save the transaction ID and the deposit address, then report them to your local fraud authority and to the exchange you sent from. If you typed a seed phrase or private key anywhere on the site, move your remaining funds to a newly generated wallet right away. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and watch for wherever it redirects, since that destination is likely the next site in the same operation.
