PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

migrateonchain.site is an impersonation phishing page titled "Restore dApp". It poses as a wallet restoration or on-chain migration tool and targets cryptocurrency wallet users. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-10-15, one week after the domain was registered. As of 2026-10-19 the domain was still marked alive, but its page content was no longer being served.

How the scam works

Fake "restore" and "migrate" dApps rely on urgency. Visitors are told their wallet needs to be restored, synced or migrated to keep their funds safe or working. The page then asks for a recovery phrase or private key, or prompts a wallet connection and transaction signatures. A recovery phrase typed into such a form gives the operators full control of the wallet, and they can empty it at once. Malicious signatures can likewise authorize transfers of tokens and NFTs.

Evidence

VirusTotal flagged the domain on 7 of 92 engines when checked on 2026-10-19. The flagging vendors were ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That count is modest, but the domain also appears on crypto-focused blocklists run by MetaMask, ScamSniffer and SEAL, alongside PhishDestroy. It is referenced in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-10-08 through NAMECHEAP INC. It sits behind Cloudflare (AS13335) on a US-located IP address, 104.21.85.91.
