Overview

appalachianbabydesignshop.shop is a fake online shop that borrows the name of Appalachian Baby Design. Its page title is "Appalachian Baby Design U.S. Organic Cotton Yarn". The bait is aimed at knitters and crafters looking for American-grown organic cotton yarn for baby projects. PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-10-07. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its storefront.

How the scam works

Shops like this copy the look, product names and branding of a real retailer, then attract buyers with steep discounts or "clearance" pricing on popular items. At checkout the victim pays by card or another method and receives nothing, a cheap substitute, or a fake tracking number. The card details and personal information typed into the checkout form can also be reused or sold. The ".shop" domain built around the brand name is designed to look like an official store rather than a copy.
