PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

xtcoinweb.com is an impersonation phishing page that poses as XT.com, the cryptocurrency exchange. It targets people who trade or hold coins on XT.com. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-19. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and its content was reachable through a redirect, so the threat remains active.

How the scam works

The page copies XT.com's own title word for word: "Crypto Exchange | Bitcoin Exchange | Buy/Sell Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Altcoins | XT.com". That makes it look legitimate in browser tabs and search snippets. Fake exchange fronts like this usually ask visitors to sign in, which hands their email, password and one-time 2FA codes to the operators. Those details are then used to take over the real XT.com account and withdraw its balance. Some versions also prompt deposits to addresses the scammers control, and any funds sent that way are gone.

Evidence

On 2026-09-29, 13 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF and CyRadar. That is a modest share, but the vendors flagging it work independently of each other. The domain is also blocked by MetaMask's phishing list and by SEAL, alongside PhishDestroy. It appears in 2 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2025-10-29, almost eleven months before PhishDestroy caught it. That suggests it was set up well in advance or sat unnoticed for a long time. It runs on Amazon cloud hosting in Singapore. Its Sectigo certificate is a basic domain-validated one, so the browser padlock only means the connection is encrypted, not that the site belongs to XT.com.

What to do

If you entered your XT.com login on this site, open XT.com directly and change your password right away. Reset your 2FA, review active sessions and API keys, and check your withdrawal address whitelist. If you reused that password anywhere else, change it there too. Do not send any deposit or "verification" payment the site asks for, and report any transfer you already made to XT.com support. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and watch for similar XT.com lookalike names.
