PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

xtblockhub.com poses as XT.com, the cryptocurrency exchange. It reuses XT.com's own homepage title word for word, so the browser tab looks like the real exchange to anyone trading Bitcoin, Ethereum or altcoins. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-19. As of 2026-10-19 the domain was still online and redirecting visitors elsewhere.

How the scam works

The page carries the title "Crypto Exchange | Bitcoin Exchange | Buy/Sell Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Altcoins | XT.com" to pass as the genuine trading platform. Exchange impersonation sites like this usually present a cloned sign-in page that captures email, password and one-time 2FA codes, which attackers replay against the real account to drain balances. Some variants also show a fake deposit address or ask for a "verification" transfer. Funds sent that way go straight to the operators and cannot be recovered. The redirect means the landing page can change at any time, so a clean-looking visit today proves nothing.

Evidence

On 2026-09-29, 6 of 91 VirusTotal engines marked the domain as malicious: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That count is modest, so many browsers and filters may still let the page load. The wallet ecosystem has acted more firmly. MetaMask and the SEAL security alliance both list the domain alongside PhishDestroy, and two AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2025-10-29, almost eleven months before it was detected. This suggests it was either held in reserve or ran quietly before being noticed. It is hosted on Amazon cloud infrastructure in Singapore. Its Sectigo domain-validated certificate gives it a browser padlock, which only proves the connection is encrypted, not that the site belongs to XT.com.

What to do

If you entered XT.com credentials on this site, sign in through the official app or your own bookmark right away. Change your password, reset 2FA, and end every active session. Then check for new API keys, withdrawal addresses or whitelist changes you did not make. If you sent crypto to an address shown there, keep the transaction hashes and contact XT.com support and your local cybercrime unit, and ignore anyone who offers to "recover" funds for a fee. Defenders should block the domain in DNS and web filters, alert users of exchanges about lookalike XT.com domains, and report the hosting to Amazon's abuse team.
