topcirnent-sp.lat is a phishing page that impersonates Microsoft behind a "Verification Required" prompt, aimed at people who use Microsoft accounts for email, Office or work sign-in. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-07, one day after the domain was registered. On 2026-10-19 the domain was still live, but its DNS was no longer serving the phishing page.
How the scam works
Victims usually arrive through an email or message claiming their Microsoft account needs urgent verification. The "Verification Required" title fits that story: the page presents a security check, then asks for an email address, password and sometimes a one-time code. Whatever is typed goes straight to the operators. With those credentials they can take over the mailbox, reset passwords on linked services, read files and use the account to send more phishing.
Evidence
On 2026-10-11, 14 of 92 VirusTotal engines marked the domain as malicious. They include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, CyRadar, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet and G-Data. That many vendors flagging it independently within days of registration is a strong signal. urlscan.io also returned a malicious verdict and recognized Microsoft branding on the page, which matches our classification. Among blocklists, PhishDestroy currently lists it.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc on 2026-10-06 and was being used for phishing within a day. That short gap is typical of throwaway domains bought for a single campaign. The meaningless name under the .lat extension has nothing to do with Microsoft. The site sat behind Cloudflare, which hides the real origin server and appears as a Canadian address. Its certificate came free from Let's Encrypt, so the padlock in the browser only meant the connection was encrypted, not that the site was legitimate.
What to do
If you entered your Microsoft password here, change it immediately from the official Microsoft account page and change it anywhere else you reused it. Turn on or reset two-factor authentication, and review recent sign-in activity, mailbox forwarding rules and connected apps for anything you did not set up. If you also entered a one-time code, assume the session was hijacked and sign out of all devices. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and mail gateways, search logs for users who reached it after 2026-10-06, and force credential resets for anyone who did.
