Overview

photonsol.live is an impersonation phishing page posing as Photon. Its page title reads "Photon - Your Trusted Platform for Token Discovery & Trading", and the "sol" in the domain points at Solana traders who use Photon to find and trade new tokens. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-25. It was still online and serving its content on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page copies Photon's branding and promises token discovery and trading so visitors believe they are on the real platform. Clones of trading terminals like this usually ask the visitor to connect a wallet and then present transactions or approvals that hand control of tokens to the operator. Some ask for a seed phrase or private key under the pretext of logging in or syncing. In every version, whatever the victim signs or types can be used to empty the wallet, and on-chain transfers cannot be reversed.

Evidence

On 2026-10-03, 6 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and URLQuery. That count is modest, so most antivirus tools will not warn visitors. The wallet-security blocklists carry more weight here: MetaMask and SEAL both list the domain alongside PhishDestroy, so MetaMask users should see a warning before connecting. The domain also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through NameSilo, LLC on 2026-09-23, only two days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway domains set up for a single campaign. The site sits behind Cloudflare, with the address geolocated to Canada, so the server that actually hosts the content stays hidden. A Let's Encrypt certificate gives the page its padlock, which shows only that the connection is encrypted, not that the site is the real Photon.

What to do

Do not connect a wallet or sign anything on photonsol.live, and reach Photon only through a bookmark you saved yourself. If you connected a wallet, revoke every approval granted while you were on the site using a token-approval checker, and move remaining funds to a new wallet. If you typed a seed phrase or private key, treat that wallet as fully compromised and transfer everything out immediately. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and report it to Cloudflare and NameSilo, since the page was still live on 2026-10-19.
