Its Italian page title, "Tappeti Berberi e Marocchini Fatti a Mano", means handmade Berber and Moroccan rugs, which points to Italian-speaking buyers looking for artisan home decor. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-07. On 2026-10-19 the domain still responded, but its shop content could not be loaded.
How the scam works
Fake rug shops trade on how hard it is to price handmade goods. A shopper sees a polished Casa Amar catalogue with prices well below what genuine hand-knotted Berber rugs cost, then pays by card or bank transfer at checkout. The rug either never ships or is replaced by a cheap item that looks nothing like the photos. Victims lose the purchase price. The name, address and payment details they typed at checkout also stay with the operators and can be reused for further fraud.
Evidence
urlscan.io rated the site malicious and flagged it specifically as a fake shop, which matches our classification. On VirusTotal, 4 of 92 engines flagged it on 2026-10-07: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and Gridinsoft. That is a low count, typical for a young storefront that has not yet built up many victim reports. A clean result from the remaining engines should not be read as a sign of legitimacy. The domain also appears in 3 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, and PhishDestroy lists it on its blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-07-27, about ten weeks before we detected it. That timing fits a shop that was built, indexed and advertised before anyone reported it. It runs on IP 212.52.28.20 in the Malakmadze Web LLC network in the US. The free Let's Encrypt certificate only provides the padlock in the browser and says nothing about whether the seller is genuine.
What to do
If you ordered from Casa Amar on this site, contact your card issuer or bank now, report the charge as fraud and ask for a chargeback. Keep your order confirmation and any emails as evidence. Do not pay any extra shipping, customs or release fees the seller asks for. Watch for phishing that uses the details you gave at checkout, and change any password you reused when creating an account on the site. Defenders should block amarhome.shop and the IP 212.52.28.20 at web filters. They should also watch for lookalike .shop storefronts advertising cheap Moroccan rugs under the same name.
