PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

onchnia.cc presents itself as "OnChnia", a crypto platform that does not legitimately exist under this name. It is an impersonation phishing page built to look like a trustworthy investment service and aimed at people looking for crypto returns. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-09, and as of 2026-10-19 the site is still online and serving its scam content.

How the scam works

Sites like OnChnia use a polished, platform-style brand to convince visitors to open an account and deposit cryptocurrency, often with promises of fast or guaranteed profits. The dashboard then shows balances growing, but those numbers are fictional. When victims try to withdraw, they are typically asked for "fees", "taxes" or verification deposits that are never refunded. Victims lose every deposit and every extra payment, and any personal or identity details they hand over can be reused for follow-up fraud.

Evidence

urlscan.io rates the site malicious and tags it as both an investment scam and a crypto scam, which matches our classification. On VirusTotal, nine of 92 engines flag the domain, among them BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, alphaMountain.ai and SOCRadar. That count is modest, but these are well-known vendors that reached their verdicts independently. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, and it is referenced in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2025-10-18 through Gname.com Pte. Ltd., almost a year before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests either a domain held in reserve or a scam that ran quietly for months. The site sits behind Cloudflare's network, with the serving address geolocated to Canada, so the real origin server is hidden from view.

What to do

Do not deposit anything more, and ignore any demand for a "withdrawal fee" or "unlock payment". Paying it will not release your funds. Record your transaction hashes, deposit addresses and any chats with "support", then report the theft to your local police and to the exchange you sent funds from. If you reused a password on OnChnia, change it everywhere else, and if you connected a wallet, review and revoke its token approvals. Defenders should block onchnia.cc at DNS and web proxies and watch for lookalike domains that use the OnChnia name.
