PhishDestroy threat report
detsysscanner.xn--q9jyb4c is an impersonation phishing page dressed up as an official Microsoft tool. It calls itself "Microsoft SysScan — Browser & System Diagnostic Scanner" and targets ordinary computer users who believe Microsoft is checking their machine. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-25. As of 2026-10-19 the domain still resolves, but its page content no longer loads. It can be refilled with a working lure at any time.
Fake system scanners use a familiar pattern. The page runs a staged scan, claims the browser or PC is infected or misconfigured, and pushes the visitor to act fast under Microsoft's name. The fix it offers is usually a sign-in prompt that harvests Microsoft account credentials, a download presented as a repair tool, or a phone number or payment for fake support. A victim can lose account access, along with everything tied to that account, or end up installing software that gives attackers a foothold on the device.
On 2026-10-06, 17 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, CyRadar and Chong Lua Dao. That spread of vendors gives the classification weight beyond a single feed. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and independently recognized Microsoft branding on it. The domain appears in 9 AlienVault OTX threat pulses and is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
The domain was registered on 2026-08-10 through Key-Systems LLC, just 15 days before PhishDestroy caught it. That short gap fits a site built for quick use rather than a real service. It sits on a punycode-encoded top-level domain and is hosted on DigitalOcean, LLC infrastructure in the US at 157.230.180.90. Its free Let's Encrypt certificate gives it a padlock, which says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
Microsoft does not run browser-based system scans from domains like this, so close any such page without clicking its buttons. If you signed in there, change your Microsoft account password at once. Then review recent sign-in activity and turn on or reset two-factor authentication. If you downloaded or ran anything, disconnect the device from the network and run a full scan with a trusted security tool. If you paid or called a support number, contact your bank. Defenders should block the domain and its IP and alert on Microsoft-branded pages hosted outside Microsoft-owned domains.

An estimated time describes an observation window. It does not prove a registrar action or the exact moment a site became unavailable.
Dated changes retained by the monitor and source collectors. Newest observations appear first; source states are not proof of a takedown.

This report combines saved page captures, registration and network records, scanner results and PhishDestroy reporting history. Each source keeps its own observation date. Open a source report to inspect the original result.
The AI-assisted analysis was written on . It describes the evidence available at that time; later source checks can change.
A capture documents what was shown. A scanner result records that provider’s assessment at the time of its check. Neither a valid certificate nor a zero-detection result is a guarantee of safety.
