PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

This Replit-hosted app uses "crediecuador1" in its hostname, behind a random-looking keyboard string. It is built to pass as a credit or lending service tied to the CrediEcuador name and is aimed at people in Ecuador looking for loans or credit checks. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page and first flagged it on 2026-09-06. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still alive and answering with a redirect.

How the scam works

Lending-brand impersonation usually promises fast approval or a free credit check. The victim is then asked for ID numbers, contact details, bank logins or card data, and sometimes a small upfront "processing" or "insurance" fee before the loan is released. The money never arrives, and the personal and banking data can be reused for account takeover or fraud. The page title currently reads "This app isn't live yet", Replit's placeholder text, while our classification is impersonation phishing.

Evidence

Google Safe Browsing flags the address for SOCIAL_ENGINEERING, which means visitors on most major browsers get a deceptive-site warning. On VirusTotal, 22 of 89 engines marked it malicious as of 2026-09-17. That is broad agreement for a single app subdomain, with alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, Chong Lua Dao, CRDF, CyRadar, Ermes, ESET and Emsisoft among them. The address is also on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The 2021-04-16 registration date and the registrar Nom-IQ Limited dba Com Laude belong to the parent replit.app platform domain, not to the scammer. The operator only had to spin up a free subdomain, which costs nothing and can be replaced in minutes. Traffic is served from Google LLC infrastructure in the US, and the Google Trust Services certificate comes with the platform. The padlock therefore says nothing about who runs the page.

What to do

If you entered a national ID, phone number or address, watch for follow-up calls or messages offering "loan release" and ignore them. If you typed in online-banking credentials, change the password, turn on two-factor authentication and ask your bank to monitor or block the account. If you paid any fee or shared card details, contact your bank to dispute the charge and cancel the card, and do not send further payments however the request is framed. Defenders should block the hostname and report it to Replit for removal. They should also watch for sibling subdomains that reuse the "crediecuador" string.

Recommendations & Advice for Victims

Choose the steps that match what you shared. Keep a copy of this report alongside your own records.

What should I do immediately?

Urgent

Stop using the suspicious site. Open the real service through its official app or an address you already trust.

  • Change all passwords — email, exchange accounts, anything that shares the same password
  • Enable 2FA using an authenticator app (not SMS). Disable SMS-based recovery
  • Freeze cards if you entered banking details on the phishing site

What information should I collect for my report?

FBI guidelines

Keep original emails, receipts, messages and screenshots in a secure place. A factual timeline helps the receiving authority understand what happened. IC3 evidence guidance ↗

  • Payment records — if you paid, save the receipt, amount, date, payment provider and recipient details.
  • Exact dates & times — of each transaction and first contact with scammer
  • Screenshots — scam website, chat messages, emails, wallet transactions, social media
  • All URLs & domains used by the scammer (including oiuytfghjkdfgvbn--crediecuador1.replit.app)
  • Communications — emails, texts, phone numbers, usernames the scammer used

Even if you don't have all details — file a report anyway. Partial information still helps investigations.

Where should I report the scam?

  • FBI IC3 — Internet Crime Complaint Center (US federal reporting)
  • Europol — European cybercrime reporting (EU)
  • Your bank or payment provider — contact its fraud team promptly through official contact details if money or card information was exposed.
  • Local police — creates an official record, even if they can't act immediately

A report is not a guarantee of recovery or investigation, but prompt, accurate transaction data can help authorities and service providers trace the incident.

How do phishing scams typically work?

  • Fake websites — pixel-perfect clones of legitimate sites with slightly altered domains
  • Pig butchering — trust built over weeks via Telegram/WhatsApp/dating apps, then money stolen
  • Recovery scams — fraudsters pose as recovery agents and demand upfront fees. Never share a seed phrase or pay before independently verifying the provider
  • AI-powered scams — deepfakes, automated phishing, and AI-generated sites making fraud harder to detect

How can I protect myself in the future?

  • Bookmark official sites — never click links from emails, DMs, or ads
  • Verify domains — check on PhishDestroy before interacting. Check HTTPS, spelling, domain age
  • "Too good to be true" = scam — guaranteed returns, celebrity endorsements, urgent deadlines
