FAQ
What do the error-correction levels mean?
With level L a scanner can still read the code when about 7% of it is damaged, with M 15%, Q 25% and H 30%. Higher levels make the code denser, so M suits screens and Q or H suit small prints or codes partly covered by a logo.
How much text fits, and what makes a code hard to scan?
One QR code holds at most 2,953 bytes at level L and 1,273 bytes at level H (ISO/IEC 18004), and letters outside ASCII take two to four bytes each in UTF-8. Keep a quiet zone of 4 modules and dark modules on a light background, or some scanners will fail.
Is my text sent to a server?
No. The code is drawn in your browser with the bundled qrcode-generator library, and nothing is uploaded or requested from another site.
