Byte Size Converter

Runs locally

Use Byte Size Converter

What it does

Enter a size in bytes, KB, MB or GB and see it in decimal units (powers of 1000) and binary units (powers of 1024) side by side.

It runs entirely in your browser: nothing you enter is uploaded.

Example

50 MiB in bytes

Input
52428800
Output (captured 2026-10-20)
B
52,428,800
KB
52428.8
MB
52.4288
GB
0.0524
TB
0.0001
KIB
51,200
MIB
50
GIB
0.0488
TIB
0

With the unit left on Bytes it shows 52.4288 MB and 52428.8 KB, but exactly 50 MiB and 51,200 KiB.

FAQ

What is the difference between MB and MiB?

MB, GB and TB are decimal (1 MB = 1,000,000 bytes); MiB, GiB and TiB are binary (1 MiB = 1,048,576 bytes). Drive makers use decimal units, while many operating systems and tools report binary sizes under decimal names.

Which units can I enter?

Bytes, KB, MB or GB, all decimal; the results cover B, KB, MB, GB, TB, KiB, MiB, GiB and TiB. Values are rounded to four decimals (very small ones show 0), very large ones switch to exponent notation, and thousands separators follow your browser's locale.

Is anything uploaded?

No. It is plain arithmetic in your browser.
