Binary ↔ Text Converter

Runs locally

Use Binary ↔ Text Converter

What it does

Decode space-separated groups of 0s and 1s into text, or write text as 8-bit binary character codes. Use it when a page, script or message contains a run of bits you need to read.

It runs entirely in your browser: nothing you enter is uploaded.

Example

Five binary groups

Input
01110000 01101000 01101001 01110011 01101000
Output (captured 2026-10-20)
phish

Load example runs Binary → Text and shows phish; Text → Binary turns it back into the same five groups.

FAQ

How does the conversion work?

Text → Binary writes the code of each character as a binary group of at least 8 digits, separated by spaces. Binary → Text reads groups separated by spaces or line breaks and turns each number back into a character.

Why do I get strange characters?

Groups must be separated: an unbroken run of bits is read as one large number and decodes to a single unrelated character. Characters beyond Latin-1 are written as their UTF-16 code unit (€ becomes 10000010101100, an emoji takes two groups), not as UTF-8 bytes, so other tools may encode them differently.

Is the text uploaded?

No. Both directions run in your browser and nothing is sent.
