PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

wt.vexotra.com is an impersonation phishing page that urlscan.io matched to an investment-scam pattern, built to pull deposits from people chasing crypto profits. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-24. The site has been offline since 2026-09-26, and DNS was still inactive at the last check on 2026-10-19. Its page carried the title "REMEDY", which names no recognizable exchange or platform, while our classification is impersonation phishing.

How the scam works

Fake investment portals copy the look of a trading or yield platform. They show a dashboard where a small deposit appears to grow quickly. Victims are then pushed to add more funds. When they try to withdraw, new "taxes", "verification" or "withdrawal fees" appear, and paying them only extends the loss. Anyone who registered may also have handed over an email, password and personal details that can be reused against other accounts.

Evidence

On 2026-10-02, 14 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Kaspersky, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. Agreement across that many separate vendors makes a false positive unlikely. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict with an investment-scam match, Spamhaus DBL lists the domain as spam, and it is on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

vexotra.com was registered on 2026-09-17 through TuringSign Inc. d/b/a Cosmotown, and it was serving this page within a week. It went dark two days after we detected it. That short lifespan is typical of disposable scam domains that are rotated as soon as they are flagged. The site was hosted at 163.61.188.5 on the NEW DHAKA HARDWARE network, geolocated to the US.

What to do

If you deposited money here, stop sending funds. Do not pay any fee, tax or unlock charge to release a balance. Contact your bank, card issuer or the exchange you sent crypto from right away, and keep every transaction ID and chat log for a police report. Be wary of anyone who later offers to "recover" your funds for a fee. If you created an account, change that password everywhere you reused it and turn on two-factor authentication. Defenders should block vexotra.com and all of its subdomains, not only wt., because the operator can bring the same lure back under a new prefix.
