Overview

wormgpt.com.co presents itself under the title "WormGPT - GPT Alternative for Work" and borrows the WormGPT name to look like an official home for that AI chatbot. It targets people searching for WormGPT who want to sign up or pay for access. PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-09-26 and classifies it as an impersonation phishing page. When last checked on 2026-10-19, the site still responded, but its DNS showed as inactive, so it may be partly offline.

How the scam works

Lookalike WormGPT sites use the brand's notoriety and the promise of an unrestricted "GPT alternative" to draw visitors into a fake signup or purchase flow. The usual ask is a subscription or license fee, often in cryptocurrency, plus an email, password or other account details. After payment, the buyer typically receives nothing or a non-working product. Because these payments are hard to reverse, anyone who paid loses that money, and any credentials entered on the page can be reused against their other accounts.

Evidence

Six of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-01: alphaMountain.ai, Chong Lua Dao, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, SOCRadar, URLQuery and VIPRE. That is modest coverage, but the six come from independent vendors that reached the same verdict. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which shows other researchers are tracking it. PhishDestroy is so far the only blocklist listing it, so many browsers and filters may not warn visitors yet.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2023-08-30 through Spaceship, Inc., roughly three years before PhishDestroy detected it. A domain that old can look more trustworthy than a freshly registered one, and it helps the site avoid filters that penalize new domains. Traffic passes through Cloudflare, Inc. on an address geolocated to Canada, so the real origin server is hidden behind the proxy. The certificate from Google Trust Services is standard for Cloudflare-fronted sites and does not mean the site is legitimate.

What to do

If you paid wormgpt.com.co for a subscription or license, do not send more money for any "activation" or "upgrade" step. Save your payment receipts and transaction IDs, and report them to your card issuer, payment provider or the exchange you sent crypto from. If you created an account there, change that password everywhere you reused it and turn on two-factor authentication. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, search logs for past visits, and warn staff who may be looking for AI tools outside approved channels.
