PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

worldintelledger.com is an impersonation phishing domain built around the Ledger brand and aimed at people who keep crypto on Ledger hardware wallets. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-19. The site has been offline since 2026-09-21, and its DNS was still inactive at the last check on 2026-10-19. The page title reads "The Laurentian Chambers | Executive Graduate School of Business", which does not match the Ledger impersonation we classified.

How the scam works

Ledger impersonation sites usually pose as an official support, firmware-update or wallet-verification portal. They warn the visitor about a security issue or a required sync, then ask for the 24-word recovery phrase. Ledger never asks for that phrase online, and anyone who has it can rebuild the wallet on their own device and move every asset out. The name "worldintelledger" is built to look like a legitimate Ledger property at a glance.

Evidence

Independent detection is thin. On 2026-09-21, only 1 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, and that engine was SOCRadar. The domain appears on the PhishDestroy blocklist and in 5 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which shows other researchers have tied it to malicious activity. Low antivirus coverage is common for short-lived phishing pages, so a near-clean VirusTotal score does not mean this domain was safe.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2026-07-22, about two months before PhishDestroy detected it. Phishing operators often register domains early and let them sit before activating them. Traffic was routed through Cloudflare, with the edge address geolocated to Canada, so the real origin server stays hidden. The site went dark two days after first detection, which suggests a short, disposable campaign.

What to do

If you typed your Ledger recovery phrase into this site, treat the wallet as fully compromised. Set up a new wallet with a fresh phrase on a genuine device and move any remaining funds there immediately. If you also connected a software wallet, review and revoke token approvals you do not recognize. Only manage firmware and support through Ledger's official app and channels. Security teams should block the domain, watch for lookalike names built on "ledger" combinations, and pull indicators from the related OTX pulses.
