PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ventran.xyz presents itself as "Ventran ($VENT) · Arbitrum whitelist". It borrows the Arbitrum name to look like an official token sale or allowlist on that network. It targets crypto users hoping for early allocation in a new token. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-27. On 2026-10-19 the site was still online and redirecting visitors.

How the scam works

Fake whitelist pages exploit the fear of missing out on a launch. The visitor is told to secure a spot by connecting a wallet and confirming a transaction or signature, which is framed as registration or a small contribution. In schemes of this kind, that confirmation sends funds straight to the operators or grants them permission to move tokens, so the victim loses whatever was sent or approved. The Arbitrum branding on the page adds credibility the project itself does not have.

Evidence

On 2026-10-10, VirusTotal showed 4 of 92 engines flagging the domain: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That count is low, so most security products will not warn a visitor yet. The domain appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers have independently tracked it. PhishDestroy is currently the only blocklist listing it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2026-09-19, just eight days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway domains built for a single campaign. The site is served from Amazon network space in the United States at 216.150.1.1. Its free Let's Encrypt certificate means the padlock in the browser says nothing about legitimacy.

What to do

Do not connect a wallet or sign anything on ventran.xyz. Arbitrum does not run whitelists for third-party tokens like $VENT. If you already connected and approved anything, review your token approvals with a revocation tool and revoke any unfamiliar ones. If you signed a transaction you did not fully understand, move remaining assets to a fresh wallet. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting IP, and add the four OTX pulses to their watchlists to catch related infrastructure.
