Overview

usdc662.com is an impersonation phishing page that borrows the name of the USDC stablecoin and presents itself as a "Blockchain Investment Project Website" promising to "Unlock Financial Freedom." It targets crypto holders looking for yield on stablecoins. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-09. The site has been offline since 2026-10-14, with its content blocked by the provider as of 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page title advertises a generic blockchain investment project rather than an official USDC service, while we classify the site as impersonation based on its use of the USDC name. Schemes like this use a trusted stablecoin brand to look legitimate, then ask visitors to deposit crypto or connect a wallet to "join" the project. Victims often see fake balances that appear to grow. When they try to withdraw, the operators invent fees or verification steps, or they drain the connected wallet outright. Deposited funds are usually lost for good.

Evidence

On 2026-10-09, 12 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, alphaMountain.ai, CyRadar and the Vietnamese anti-scam group Chong Lua Dao. These are independent vendors, so their agreement supports the classification even though most engines had not yet caught up. The domain also appears in three AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers tracked it separately. Of the blocklists checked, it is listed by PhishDestroy.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Gname.com Pte. Ltd. on 2025-11-09, about eleven months before PhishDestroy detected it. A long gap like that often means a domain was registered in advance and activated later, or ran unnoticed for a while. The site was served through Cloudflare's network on a Canadian-located address, which hides the real origin server.

What to do

If you deposited funds on usdc662.com, do not pay any "withdrawal fee," "tax" or "unlock" charge, because it will not release your money. Save transaction hashes and screenshots and report them to your exchange and to local authorities. Be wary of "recovery" services that contact you afterward, since they often run follow-up scams. If you connected a wallet, revoke all token approvals granted during that session and move your remaining assets to a new wallet if you signed anything you did not understand. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and watch for similar "usdc" plus number domains.
