PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

universalqfsledger.com is an impersonation phishing page that borrows the Ledger name under the title "UQFS ledger". It targets cryptocurrency holders, especially Ledger hardware wallet owners and people drawn in by "QFS" (Quantum Financial System) promises. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-13, and as of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its phishing content.

How the scam works

The page title pairs Ledger's brand with the "QFS ledger" narrative. That narrative tells victims their crypto must be moved onto a special "quantum" wallet or ledger to be protected or to receive payouts. Pages of this type usually ask visitors to "sync", "verify" or "migrate" their wallet by typing in their 24-word recovery phrase or connecting the wallet. Anyone holding that phrase controls the wallet outright, so funds can be swept to the operators within minutes and cannot be recovered. Ledger never asks for a recovery phrase on any website, and no legitimate QFS ledger exists. The title shows "UQFS ledger" rather than Ledger's own product branding, and we classify the site as a Ledger impersonation.

Evidence

On 2026-09-23, 8 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar, Sophos and desenmascara.me. That is a modest count, but it comes from vendors that work independently of each other. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as spam, and four AlienVault OTX pulses reference it. PhishDestroy carries it on its own blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-11 through TuringSign Inc. d/b/a Cosmotown, just two days before PhishDestroy detected it. Such a short gap points to a site built for a quick campaign rather than an established business. It is hosted on the NEW DHAKA HARDWARE network in the United States. Its free Let's Encrypt certificate only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

Do not enter a recovery phrase, private key or wallet password on this site. If you typed your 24-word phrase here, treat that wallet as compromised. Set up a new Ledger seed on your own device and move any remaining funds to it immediately. If you connected a software wallet, also revoke any token approvals granted during the visit. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and warn users that "QFS ledger" offers are a recurring wallet-theft lure.
