Overview

udtec.org presents itself as "UDTEC — Ukrainian Drone Training and Education Centre," borrowing the identity of a Ukraine-linked drone education project to win the trust of visitors. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page and first flagged it on 2026-10-01. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online with its content live, so anyone landing on it now sees the active page.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages like this copy the name, branding and cause of a real or plausible-sounding organisation so that visitors act without checking who they are dealing with. Sites built around Ukrainian defence or volunteer themes often appeal to sympathy and urgency, which pushes people to send support, share personal details or connect a crypto wallet. Its presence on MetaMask's and SEAL's blocklists points to crypto users as a target. Whatever is sent or signed on a page like this goes to the operators, not to any genuine drone training effort.

On 2026-10-14, 5 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a modest count, but it comes from several unrelated vendors. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, which means wallet software and the crypto security community have separately judged it dangerous.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-30 and caught by PhishDestroy the very next day. That short lifespan is typical of throwaway lookalike sites rather than an established organisation. Registration is through Cloudflare, Inc., and the site sits behind Cloudflare's network in the US, which hides the real origin server from visitors.

What to do
