PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

trusttrade.cc is an impersonation phishing site that presented itself under the name "trusttrade", styled as a trading service to win the trust of cryptocurrency users. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-15. Its listing on wallet-focused blocklists shows it was aimed at people holding crypto. The site has been offline since 2026-09-29, and its DNS was still inactive on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages like this copy the name and look of a trading platform so visitors believe they are dealing with a legitimate service. The "trusttrade" branding is meant to sound safe and familiar. Victims are typically pushed to log in, deposit funds or connect a wallet. Anything entered or sent goes straight to the operators: login credentials, deposited crypto and, where a wallet is connected, assets exposed through signed transactions.

Evidence

Thirteen of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-23. The flagging vendors include BitDefender, ESET, Kaspersky, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft and alphaMountain.ai, so the verdict rests on several unrelated security companies rather than a single source. MetaMask and the SEAL security alliance both list it alongside PhishDestroy, which means wallet users were actively warned. Spamhaus classifies it as DBL_PHISH, and it appears in one AlienVault OTX threat pulse.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Gname.com Pte. Ltd. on 2026-04-21, nearly five months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests it was set up in advance rather than spun up and burned within days. Traffic ran through Cloudflare's network, with the address geolocating to Canada. Because Cloudflare acts as a proxy, that address does not reveal where the real server sits.

What to do

If you deposited funds through trusttrade.cc, treat that money as lost. Ignore any follow-up offers to "recover" it, which are a common second-stage scam. If you entered a password, change it everywhere you reused it and turn on app-based 2FA. If you connected a wallet or signed anything, review and revoke token approvals for that address and move remaining assets to a fresh wallet. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and watch for the trusttrade name resurfacing on new domains.
