Overview

tether.cwfrazier.com is a Tether-branded subdomain that PhishDestroy added to its blocklist after first detecting it on 2026-09-03. Its page presents itself as a "Private service - not affiliated with Tether Limited," which puts the Tether name in front of USDT holders while disclaiming any link to the company. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online, and its content loaded behind an access protection layer.

How the scam works

PhishDestroy has not yet assigned this domain a specific scheme type. The page title shows the risk: an unofficial "private service" built around the Tether name, which can draw in people looking for USDT-related help or tools. Sites like this put users at risk when they ask for wallet connections, seed phrases, login details or transfers of stablecoins to a third party. Six of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-17: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, PhishFort and SOCRadar. PhishDestroy is the only blocklist listing it so far, so many browsers and filters may not warn visitors yet. The parent domain, cwfrazier.com, was registered on 2010-08-15 through Tucows Domains Inc.
