PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

stakobit.org is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as a crypto platform called STAKO and targets cryptocurrency users. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-16, three days after the domain was registered. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its scam content.

How the scam works

Sites like this copy the look and language of a legitimate crypto service, here under the STAKO name, so that visitors trust it with their assets. Victims are usually asked to connect a wallet, sign transactions, deposit funds, or enter credentials or recovery phrases. Any of these can hand control of funds to the operators. Deposits sent to such platforms are typically unrecoverable, and a signed approval or a leaked seed phrase can let attackers empty the wallet at any time afterward.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the page malicious and tagged it as a cryptoscam. The domain is listed on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists as well as PhishDestroy's own, and it appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses. VirusTotal showed 0 detections out of 92 engines on 2026-10-16, so conventional antivirus vendors had not yet caught up with this site. A clean VirusTotal result should not be read as a sign that the page is safe.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-10-13 through Cloudflare, Inc. It resolves to 172.67.142.219 on CLOUDFLARENET (Cloudflare, Inc.) in the United States, which places the true origin server behind Cloudflare's network. The site uses a TLS certificate issued by Let's Encrypt (YE1), so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

If you entered a seed phrase or private key, move your assets right away to a new wallet created on a clean device, because the old one is compromised.
