PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

stakobit.com is an impersonation phishing site that presents itself under the name STAKO and targets cryptocurrency users. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-16, three days after the domain was registered. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content, so it remains a live risk to anyone who lands on it.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages like this copy the look and language of a legitimate crypto service so visitors trust it enough to act. The STAKO branding and the domain name suggest a staking or crypto investment platform, a common lure that promises yields on deposited funds. Victims are typically pushed to sign up, hand over login or wallet credentials, connect a wallet, or send crypto as a deposit. Anything sent or authorized this way goes straight to the operators and is very difficult to recover.

Evidence

urlscan.io rates the site malicious and tags it as a cryptoscam. The domain appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy's own list, and it is referenced in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses. VirusTotal showed 0 detections out of 92 engines when checked on 2026-10-16. Many new crypto scam domains show this kind of lag before antivirus vendors catch up, so the clean VirusTotal result should not be read as a sign of safety.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-10-13 through Cloudflare, Inc. It resolves to an address on AS13335, Cloudflare's network in the United States, which places the origin server behind Cloudflare's proxy. The site uses a TLS certificate issued by Let's Encrypt (YE2), so the padlock in the browser only means the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

Do not enter credentials, connect a wallet or send funds to stakobit.com. If you created an account there, change that password and any password you reused elsewhere, and turn on two-factor authentication. If you connected a wallet or signed anything, review your token approvals and revoke any you do not recognize. If your seed phrase was exposed, move your assets to a newly created wallet right away.
