stakegame.org presents itself as "Stake: Online Crypto Casino, Sports Betting." It borrows the name of a well-known crypto gambling brand to attract players looking for casino games and sports betting paid in cryptocurrency. PhishDestroy classifies it as a fraudulent gambling site and first detected it on 2026-09-18. When last checked on 2026-10-19, the site was still online and its content was live.

How the scam works

The site runs on a kit we track as Gambler Scam. This type of kit builds fake casinos that look playable but never pay out. Victims sign up, often lured by a bonus or promo code, then deposit crypto to play. The account balance shown on screen is just a number the operators control, and it can grow quickly to build trust. When the player tries to cash out, the site invents obstacles such as "verification deposits," taxes or withdrawal fees. Every payment is lost, and the advertised winnings were never real.

Evidence

On 2026-10-01, VirusTotal showed 5 of 91 engines flagging the domain: alphaMountain.ai, Ermes, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a small share, which is typical for a fake casino that hosts no malware and no credential form. Fraud of this kind is spotted by what the site does, not by malicious code. Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Spaceship, Inc. on 2026-08-13, just 36 days before we detected it. A fresh registration combined with a borrowed brand name fits a short-lived scam operation. Traffic is served through Cloudflare's network, with the address geolocating to Canada, so the real origin server stays hidden. The padlock in the browser comes from an automatically issued Google Trust Services certificate. It shows the connection is encrypted, not that the site is legitimate.

What to do

If you deposited funds here, stop now. Do not pay any fee, tax or deposit the site says is needed to unlock a withdrawal, because that money is lost as well. Save your transaction hashes, deposit addresses and screenshots, then report them to the exchange or service you sent the crypto from. Be wary of anyone who later offers to "recover" your funds for an upfront payment, since that is usually a second scam. Change the password if you reused it elsewhere. Security teams should block the domain and report it to Cloudflare and the registrar.
