Overview

skinsfn.com is an impersonation phishing site aimed at Fortnite players. Its page title is "Fortnite Rank & Locker Value Checker – Free Tool | Skinsfn", a lure built for players curious about what their skins and cosmetics are worth. That title presents a harmless utility, while PhishDestroy classifies the site as impersonation phishing. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-14. On 2026-10-19 the site still responded, though DNS for its content was inactive.

How the scam works

Locker value checkers work as bait because a real check needs access to your account inventory. Pages like this ask the player to sign in with their Fortnite (Epic Games) credentials, sometimes including a verification code, before showing a "result". Whatever is entered goes to the operators. They can then take over the account, change its email and password, and strip or resell the skins, V-Bucks and rare cosmetics the player was trying to value.

Evidence

On 2026-09-16, 8 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Emsisoft, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, Netcraft, SOCRadar and Webroot. A minority score, but these vendors work independently of one another, which supports the classification. Spamhaus lists the domain on its DBL as spam. It also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, and it is on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-05 through Gname.com Pte. Ltd. and was flagged just nine days later, a short gap typical of throwaway phishing domains. It is hosted at 46.29.26.38 on the M/S ROBI TRADERS network in Turkey. Its Let's Encrypt certificate only means the connection is encrypted. The padlock says nothing about who runs the site.

What to do

If you entered your Fortnite or Epic Games login on this site, change that password immediately from the official Epic Games site or app. Also change it anywhere else you reused it. Sign out of all sessions, turn on or reset two-factor authentication, and check that your account email has not been changed. Review your purchase history for unauthorized activity. If you have lost access, contact Epic Games support right away to start account recovery. Defenders should block the domain and IP 46.29.26.38, and warn gaming communities that third-party locker checkers asking for a login are a common phishing lure.
