PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

sitemv1ekczzlim2.cfd is an impersonation phishing page posing as Flare Network. It carries the title "Flare: The blockchain for data" to pass as the official site, and it targets FLR holders and people who interact with the Flare ecosystem. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-10. When last checked on 2026-10-19, the domain itself was still live, but its DNS was no longer serving the cloned page.

How the scam works

The page copies Flare's branding and headline so a visitor arriving from a search ad, social post or direct message believes they are on the real project site. Fake pages built around a blockchain brand like this usually push a claim, reward, delegation or wallet-sync action. That action leads the visitor to connect a wallet and sign a transaction or approval, or to type a recovery phrase into a form. Either path gives the operators control of the victim's tokens, and the theft can follow within minutes of the signature or phrase being submitted.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the site malicious and matched it to the Flare Network brand. On VirusTotal, 17 of 92 engines flagged it as of 2026-10-14, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Emsisoft, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF and CyRadar. That is a solid showing from vendors with independent detection pipelines. The wallet-security community lists it as well: MetaMask, ScamSniffer and SEAL all block it alongside PhishDestroy, so many users will see a warning before the page loads. Two AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference the domain.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Spaceship, Inc. on 2026-10-09, and PhishDestroy detected it the next day. A one-day gap like this points to a throwaway domain set up for a short campaign. The random-looking name on the low-cost .cfd extension makes no attempt to resemble Flare's real address, so the operators rely on the page content, not the URL, to fool visitors. Traffic runs through Cloudflare, Inc. on an address geolocated to Canada, which hides the true origin server.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to this site, revoke any token approvals or permissions granted during that session using a trusted approval-management tool. Move remaining FLR and other assets to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you did not fully understand. If you entered your recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised: create a new wallet with a new phrase and transfer funds immediately. Reach Flare only through bookmarked official channels. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and keep watching it, since a live domain whose DNS has gone quiet can be pointed back at a phishing page at any time.
