PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

sitemuzofn8ysks7.cfd is an impersonation phishing page dressed up as Flare Network, using the project's own tagline, "Flare: The blockchain for data", as its page title. It targets Flare users and holders of FLR-ecosystem assets who expect to be on the official site. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-09, one day after the domain was registered. As of 2026-10-19 the domain still responded, but its DNS was no longer serving the phishing content.

How the scam works

Pages like this copy the look and wording of the real Flare site so a visitor arriving from a search ad, social post or direct message believes they are in the right place. The usual hook is a prompt to connect a wallet for staking, delegation, a claim or an airdrop. That prompt then leads to a malicious signature or token approval, or to a request for the recovery phrase. Either path can hand an attacker control of the victim's funds, and blockchain transfers cannot be reversed.

Evidence

17 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain at the 2026-10-13 check, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Emsisoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. That is broad agreement from established vendors for a domain only days old. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and identified the Flare Network brand on it. MetaMask, ScamSniffer and SEAL all list it alongside PhishDestroy, so many wallet users are already warned before the page loads. The domain also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Spaceship, Inc. on 2026-10-08 and was in use within a day. That short gap is typical of throwaway phishing domains. The random-looking name on a cheap .cfd extension points the same way. The site sits behind Cloudflare, with the address resolving to Canada, which hides the real origin server. Its Let's Encrypt certificate only means the padlock appears, not that the site is legitimate.

What to do

If you connected a wallet here, review and revoke any token approvals or permissions granted around that time, and move remaining assets to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you did not understand. If you typed in a seed phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and transfer funds to a new wallet with a new phrase immediately. Reach Flare only through bookmarked official channels, not links from ads or messages. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, hunt for past visits in logs, and report related lookalike domains for takedown.
