PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

roblox.com.do is a gaming-themed scam that poses as Roblox. It uses the Dominican Republic's .com.do extension so the address reads like an official regional Roblox site. The page title is simply "Roblox." Its targets are Roblox players, many of them children and teenagers, who are hunting for free Robux, limited items or account perks. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-06. On 2026-10-19 the site still showed as alive, but its DNS was inactive and the scam page was not loading.

How the scam works

Scams like this copy the Roblox look and promise something players want, such as free Robux, rare items or a giveaway. To claim it, the victim is asked to sign in with their Roblox username and password, and sometimes a 2FA code. Those details go straight to the operators. They then take over the account, strip its Robux and tradeable items, and often use it to spread the same lure to the victim's friends. The domain's listing on a Discord phishing blocklist fits the typical way these links reach players, through Discord servers and direct messages.

Evidence

17 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-16, including BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Emsisoft, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, CyRadar and Chong Lua Dao. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and detected Roblox branding on it. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing, which means many mail and DNS filters will block it. It also appears on the DiscordPhishing blocklist and in 50 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so researchers outside PhishDestroy have tracked it independently.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-08-24 through NIC .DO, the Dominican Republic registry, and was flagged 13 days later. That short gap is typical of throwaway scam domains set up for a quick campaign. The server sat on a SWISSNET LLC network, registered in the US but located in the Netherlands, far from the Dominican domain extension. It used a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser said nothing about whether the site was legitimate.

What to do

If you entered your Roblox login here, change your Roblox password right away. Change it on any other site where you used the same password, and turn on 2-Step Verification in Roblox settings. Check your account for unfamiliar sessions, trades, purchases or changed email and phone details, and log out all other sessions. If you can no longer sign in, contact Roblox Support. Parents should talk with children about "free Robux" offers, since Roblox does not hand out currency through outside sites. Defenders and Discord moderators should block the domain, remove posts that link to it, and watch for new Roblox lookalike domains on country-code extensions.
