PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

rev-cash.xyz presented itself as "RevCash — Turn your RevPoints into cash," a cash-out portal aimed at people who hold RevPoints rewards. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page and first flagged it on 2026-09-11. The site went offline that same day, and as of 2026-10-19 the domain no longer resolves in DNS.

How the scam works

Pages built around "redeem your points for cash" offers trade on a simple hook: you have value sitting idle, and a branded-looking portal promises to release it. To claim the payout, the visitor is typically asked to sign in with the rewards-account login, hand over personal or payment details, or connect a crypto wallet to receive funds. Whatever is entered goes to the operators, not the program it imitates. The result can be a hijacked account, drained points, or misuse of the payment or wallet access that was surrendered.

Evidence

On 2026-09-14, 9 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, among them ESET, Kaspersky, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, CRDF, Gridinsoft, alphaMountain.ai and Bfore.Ai PreCrime. That is a modest count, but it comes from established vendors working independently. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing, and it also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy. The listings from wallet-focused blocklists show the crypto-security community treated it as a threat to wallet users. Four AlienVault OTX pulses also reference it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Spaceship, Inc. on 2026-09-08, just three days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway phishing domains set up for a quick run. It sat behind Cloudflare on an address located in Germany, which hides the real origin server. Its certificate came from Google Trust Services, so the padlock in the browser said nothing about whether the site could be trusted.

What to do

If you entered a RevPoints or other account password on this site, change it immediately, along with any other account that uses the same password, and turn on two-factor authentication. Review the account for redeemed or transferred points. If you supplied card or bank details, contact your bank to block the card and dispute unfamiliar charges. If you connected a wallet or signed anything, revoke the site's token approvals with a reputable approval checker, and move funds to a fresh wallet if you signed an unfamiliar transaction. Defenders should keep the domain blocked, look in mail and proxy logs for users who reached it around 2026-09-11, and watch for lookalike domains pushing the same points-to-cash offer.
