Overview

qyopitr.com presented itself as the SKOCH India Economic Forum, with the page title "India Economic Forum 2022 - SKOCH India Economic Forum". The meaningless domain name has no link to SKOCH, which makes it an impersonation phishing page. Its likely audience is people who expect to register for, speak at or sponsor an Indian policy and economics event. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-16. It went offline on 2026-09-17, and on 2026-10-19 it was still dead, with its content blocked by the provider.

How the scam works

Event-impersonation pages copy the name and branding of a known conference to look like an official registration or nomination portal. Visitors are usually asked for personal and professional details, login credentials or a payment for passes, awards entries or sponsorship packages. That money and data go to the operator, not the real organiser. The out-of-date "2022" branding on a domain registered in 2026 is a clear sign that the page was not run by the event.

Evidence

PhishDestroy's own analysis is the main basis for the classification, and so far it is the only blocklist listing the domain. VirusTotal returned 0 detections out of 89 engines on 2026-09-18. That scan ran a day after the site went offline, so no vendor appears to have catalogued it while it was live. Five AlienVault OTX pulses reference the domain, which shows that other researchers are tracking it even though antivirus engines are not.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through NameCheap, Inc. on 2026-03-03, about six months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests it was registered in advance and put to use later. The site sat behind Cloudflare, Inc., with the network located in Canada, so the address it exposed belonged to the proxy and not to the origin server. It used a free, automatically issued Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser said nothing about who ran the site.

What to do

If you submitted details or paid through this site, contact your bank or card issuer to dispute the charge. Then confirm any registration directly with SKOCH through channels you already trust. If you reused a password there, change it everywhere it was used, turn on two-factor authentication, and treat follow-up emails or calls about the "forum" as suspect. Defenders should block qyopitr.com and watch for look-alike event portals that use stale conference branding.
