proposal-zipcoin.xyz is an impersonation phishing page built around zipcoin. It presents itself under the title "zipcoin — the currency from Snowmoon, shipped" and targets crypto users who follow that project or its announcements. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-07. As of 2026-10-19 its DNS no longer resolves, so the page is offline for now.
How the scam works
The domain uses the word "proposal" to mimic an official governance vote or launch page, and the title frames zipcoin as a finished product ready to claim. Pages of this kind borrow a project's name and branding to win trust. They then ask visitors to connect a wallet, sign a transaction or hand over account details under the pretext of voting, claiming or buying. Whatever the visitor approves or enters goes to the operators, not to the real project.
Evidence
MetaMask and SEAL both list the domain alongside PhishDestroy, which matters because those lists exist to protect wallet users. Spamhaus carries it in its DBL as a spam domain, and it appears in three AlienVault OTX threat pulses. On VirusTotal, 5 of 92 engines flagged it on 2026-10-07: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet and Gridinsoft. That count is modest, so many security tools would not have warned a visitor at that point.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-10-02 through NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED. PhishDestroy caught it five days later, a short lifespan typical of throwaway phishing domains. It sat behind Cloudflare, Inc. on an address geolocated to Canada, which hides the real origin server. A Let's Encrypt certificate gave it a padlock, which shows only that the connection was encrypted, not that the site is legitimate.
What to do
If you connected a wallet to this site, use a token-approval checker to revoke any permissions it requested. Move remaining funds to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you did not understand. If you typed a seed phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and empty it immediately. Get zipcoin information only through the project's verified channels. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and watch for similar "proposal" lookalike domains that may replace it.
